Il Volo Returns to the Fox Theatre with 'We Are Love Tour' September 5

(6/17/2013) - For the millions of U.S. fans who fell in love with the astonishing talent of Il Volo following their show stopping PBS Special Il Volo Takes Flight, or as special guests of Barbra Streisand's fall 2012 tour, the boys will return to North America for a series of 17 concerts, heading to the Fox Theatre on Thursday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m.; Il Volo made their Fox Theatre debut in 2011.

(6/6/2013) - Mitch Albom announced from his show on WJR radio, that Ernie will extend past its scheduled July end date, for five more weeks through August 11 at the City Theatre, located inside of Hockeytown Cafe. Since its inaugural season in 2011, the two-man play, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network, has become the highest-attended show in the history of the City Theatre; each year requiring performance extensions.

WSU's CINDERELLA to Play Local Public Elementary Schools this Month

(6/6/2013) - The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance will launch its inaugural Detroit Youth Theatre and Dance Journey with the children's play Cinderella or It's Okay to Be Different by Cynthia Mercati on June 4, 2013 and will travel to eleven different Detroit Public Elementary Schools throughout the month of June. The production will play at the Hilberry Theatre on June 20, June 21, June 23, June 27, June 28 and June 30 to provide an opportunity for all children and adults to enjoy Cinderella or It's Okay to Be Different. The performance on June 27 at 10:30 a.m. is already sold out.

Bay City Players Announce YOUTHEATRE Performances, Begin. 6/13

(6/3/2013) - YOUTHEATRE is a program in which students are able to learn about theatre productions by presenting one act plays. Third through ninth graders act in productions while seasoned high school students function as directors. Adult staff provides needed support. Youtheatre typically produces about 8 shows. A typical show has 3-6 student directors and about 20 student actors drawn from schools in Bay City and the surrounding area. This year's performances are June 13-15, 2013. Each session will last approximately 2 hours. The shows will be presented in the order shown below, with a 10-15 minute intermission between each play within the session.
